Robotics & AI Joint Motor Production

Frameless and flat BLDC stators for robot joints, humanoids and collaborative arms, wound and assembled on the same core technology as our drone-motor lines: precise winding, high slot fill and repeatable stator assembly.

A robot joint packs a frameless brushless motor into a thin ring around its gearbox. The stator is short and wide, the slots are tight, and torque density depends on how much copper each slot holds, so winding precision decides how the joint performs.

These are the problems we already solve in small-diameter drone and BLDC motors. Our flagship TWM-929 out-slot stator winder, our stator fusing and test stations, and the press-fit and assembly cells of our BLDC lines carry over directly to flat and frameless joint-motor stators. Tooling is designed around your stator and the process is validated on your samples before a machine is built.

Since 2006, our engineering foundation in semiconductor packaging and inspection equipment has allowed us to bring semiconductor-grade motion control and visual precision down to motor production automation.

What we bring

High slot fill on flat stators

Multi-axis servo winding places wire precisely in short, wide stators, where copper fill and repeatability set the torque density of the joint.

Built around your stator

Winding tooling, fixtures and termination are designed for your frameless or flat stator and proven on your samples.

From one winder to a full line

Start with a standalone TWM-929 for prototypes and pilot runs, then link winding, fusing, testing and assembly into a turnkey line as volumes grow.

How a joint-motor stator is built

A typical flow for a frameless or flat BLDC joint-motor stator. Every line is configured to your motor and your process.

  1. 1

    Slot insulation

Insulation end plates or slot paper fitted to the lamination stack.

  2. 2

    Precision winding

Out-slot or in-slot multi-axis winding of the stator coils.

  3. 3

    Terminal fusing

Coil leads bonded to the terminals without solder.

  4. 4

    Coil testing

Resistance, surge and hipot test of every stator.

  5. 5

    Press-fit and assembly

Bearings, shaft and rotor brought together into the finished joint motor.

Send us the part. We will tell you the line.

Tell us the stator, armature or rotor you need to produce and the output you are planning for, and we will come back with a machine selection or a full line layout. We have planned plants from zero for fifty listed manufacturers worldwide; the conversation starts with your part, not our catalogue.

We reply within one business day. Specifications are never gated — only the full PDF catalogue asks for an email.
